National heritage listed, Block 19 Bonegilla was originally an army camp during World War II, and later served as Australia’s largest migrant reception centre when millions of people seeking a new start and peace, departed for Australia.
Today visitors can explore the site with an interactive trail, investigate their family connection and obtain an intimate glimpse into the hopes and dreams of Australia’s post-war migrants.
