Buda is a unique colonial gentleman’s residence surrounded by an enchanting 1.2 hectare historic garden dating from the goldrush era. Located on a hill at the north end of Castlemaine township, Buda gives visitors a rare glimpse back in time to pioneering days and insights into the aspirations of émigré Hungarian goldsmith and jeweller, Ernest Leviny, and his creative daughters through their distinctive collection of arts and crafts. Buda has a plant nursery, giftshop and venue hire available. We also have a vibrant annual program of events and activities for the public. Check our website for updates.
